Entry to the Cup competition is free and all teams in the League are entered automatically.

The Cup competition uses the same teams as the League - ie you don't get to select a brand new team.

There will be an initial "Preliminary" round to get us down to 32 teams, after which it becomes a straight knock-out cup competition.

Numbers will be drawn from an electronic hat to determine who plays who in the Preliminary and First rounds. The numbers relate to League positions a couple of weeks before the Preliminary Round is due to be played (where two teams are tied in the League, then the order in which they are displayed in the league table will be used to determine their position).

The result of each game will be decided by how many points the teams score in the relevant week. The weeks for each round are -

  • Preliminary Round - week 17
  • First Round - week 21
  • Second Round - week 25
  • Quarter Final - week 29
  • Semi Final - week 34
  • Final - week 38

In the event of a draw, the "replay" will use the points for the following week - and then subsequent weeks if more replays are needed. A round may be delayed if one or more matches from the previous round remain undecided.

The winner of the Cup won't actually receive a cup - but they will get a cash prize as will the losing finalist and, funds permitting, the losing semi-finalists
